So, Disney has been developing this little gem with some serious voice talent including Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry, Lance Henriksen and none-other-than Bruce Boxleitner himself! The series will be directed and helped along in other roles by Sean Bailey and Joseph Kosinski (of Tron: Legacy spotlight). As well as Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird (writers from the ORIGINAL TRON) The series will take place between the two movies and air on Disney XD.

Okay, so not much to tell yet. From this it looks like a dark-future Mach 5 rip but I'm optimistic. The CG-2D animation hybrid works well in these few sequence which would be my first worry. My second worry would be the writing but AGAIN: the writers are pulled straight from the original TRON. After Avatar: The Last Airbender it was proven that American networks caaaaan dish out quality animation with more complex narratives and advanced animation techniques. I'd love for this to become a trend so I'm rooting for this all the way. Some sort of preview will be released with the films later this week so we'll see how it unfolds.
UPDATE: Yeah, there's nothing new on the DVD-same trailer-that's it--bummer.
